It’s interesting that the Progressives of the early 1900’s (the ancestors of today’s modern liberals) were the ones who introduced popular initiatives in the States. (For the politically unaware, an initiative is where all registered voters get to vote on a bill, instead of being handled by the legislature.) Well, in 2000 California voters approved a bill banning same-sex “marriage.” Now the California legislature is trying to overturn it! Thankfully, Governor Schwarzenegger has planned to veto the bill, officially because “the people have already spoken,” but secretly I think he doesn’t like “girly-men.” At any rate, libs are now screaming that he has broken faith with the “people” (meaning homos), little realizing it was their own Progressive ideals of the early 1900’s that killed same-sex marriage in the first place!
